OPEN SOURCE SERMONS We used to say that the texts of sermons and addresses from St James's were copyright protected and that if you wished to use them in anyway you had to ask the author. We have woken up to our mistake, and now practice 'open source sermons'. 'All things come from you, and of your own do we give you' is a phrase in the liturgy, which underlines that all we possess, create, produce and think arises only because of what we have freely received in the first place. We are advised to still show the copyright claim but want readers to feel free to use whatever they find in our sermon texts as they wish. Should you choose to let us know of any use you put them to, we would be delighted to hear from you - but that is not obligatory.
